Laser skin resurfacing is performed under local anesthesia. In this facial cosmetic treatment, layers of skin are removed thereby restoring softer, smoother, more youthful appearing skin. This procedure lessens or completely removes signs of aging and is particularly good for wrinkles.

Botox® treatment is available to our patients as a non invasive method to smooth out dynamic wrinkles. In general, they experience very little discomfort. Topical anesthetic creams are applied to numb the skin before the injection of a very small amount of Botox directly into the muscle. The muscles relax and reduce the appearance of frown lines or crow's feet with results usually seen within 24-72 hours. Dr. Prasad performs Botox treatments in his offices located in Manhattan or Long Island.

Juvederm treatment is a non-surgical procedure performed by Dr. Prasad. It may be used to enhance the contour of eyelids that have experienced “hollowing.” Hollowing can occur in either the upper eyelid or lower eyelid. Juvederm treatments will restore the eyelid shape and create a rejuvenated appearance. Juvederm treatments are also used to fill in facial wrinkles and folds and sometimes to bring fullness to lips. Juvederm treatments take approximately a half hour and give instantaneous results. Results last up to six months or longer. Fillers differ in terms of thickness and duration of effects. Different fillers work better on individual parts of the face and body. Dr. Prasad spends a great deal of time discussing which filler is appropriate for the particular area that a client is interested in addressing.

Dr. Prasad uses his expertise in Eyelid Surgery to provide Asian patients with naturally appearing eyelids and does not make one of the most frequent mistakes of many other plastic surgeons of "Americanizing" or "Europeanizing" the eyelid. For men, Dr. Prasad alters his surgical approach so that a man's blepharoplasty helps him retain a masculine appearance. Dr. Prasad's specialized approach for people of color minimizes their two main problems requiring special consideration including avoiding the formation of keloids (raised unattractive scars) when their skin heals as well as reducing the tendency to have long-lasting color changes when they heal.
